Dorking sits about 55 miles north of the workshop, A3 to the M25. We're into RH4 and RH5 through the season for school fairs, community and village events, and corporate days at the business parks along the M25 corridor, with the A24 running up past Box Hill and Mickleham.

What travels up the A24

Much of our Surrey work is schools. We go back to a prep school in the county a couple of times a year with the climbing wall, human table football, the last man standing sweeper, an army assault course and the 3 in 1 sports inflatable, and a company's annual barbecue in Haslemere ran crazy golf, a bouncy castle, the crossbow challenge and inflatable axe throwing for the staff and their families. Site details and the paperwork

Surrey Hills sites are often sloping or tight on access. The ground rules for any Dorking site are: the van stops within 50 metres of the pitch, a route at least 36 inches wide brings the kit in, and each inflatable draws from a 13A socket within 20 metres. On a sloping site we'll tell you up front if a particular inflatable is wrong for it, and we don't set up on ground that won't take it safely. Parking for the van is down to the hirer, and if the power point is a long way from the kit we bring a generator along.

The compliance pack goes with the booking, and the venue or school office can have a copy before the date. It runs to £10 million public liability with the licensed-premises cover, PIPA tag numbers that check out on the national database, PAT certificates for the electrical side, and the risk assessment and method statement. The people who set it up and run it are Monster's own, RPII-examined, first-aid trained and enhanced-DBS checked, and every outdoor inflatable carries an anemometer with the written 24mph rule.
