Green Screen Dream Machine photo booth
The Green Screen Dream Machine - a touchscreen green screen photo booth, sometimes called a chroma key booth - is the bigger brother of our green screen photo booth. Guests step inside in groups, pick a mode on the HD touchscreen, and the booth drops whatever background they have chosen in behind them. There are over 800 background combinations once you count all the themed sets, so it suits people who would rather work through a long list than have one fixed look.
Every shot is taken against a green screen curtain on a DSLR camera and comes off a dye sub printer, dry and ready to take away in about ten seconds. Prints are 6"x4" and you choose the layout on the screen: classic double strips, four large photos, one large with four small, or a photo mosaic.
The modes
The touchscreen opens on a menu of modes:
- Classic Booth - a plain superimposed curtain behind you in the colour you pick, for a straight photo booth look
- Green Screen Booth - ten themed background sets dropped in behind each shot
- 3D Booth - ten themed sets with a foreground as well as a background, so you end up in the middle of the scene
- Around the World - themed sets covering the seven continents, including Europe, Africa and America
- Time Machine - period themes from Ancient Egypt and the Age of Piracy to the Wild West and Prohibition
- Big Edz - your head on a small cartoon body, with seven sets including Super Heroes, Outer Space, Babies and Muscle Beach
- Magazine Covers - put yourself on the front of one of five spoof magazines, VIP, THE BOOTH and POP HITS among them
- Pop Art - a pop art style print
- Wish You Were Here - the booth picks one of more than a hundred world landmarks at random and makes you a postcard
- Celebrations - seven themed sets including Birthday, Spooky, Love, Fireworks and Christmas
- Photo Booth Lottery - if you cannot decide, press start and the booth picks a mode for you
- Custom - a set we can load to match your event or theme
Props
A free prop box comes with every hire: hats, novelty glasses, feather boas, inflatable guitars and microphones, and the speech bubble signs (Mr & Mrs, SELFIE, OMG and the rest). The booth itself comes in a few cabin wraps, including a black and pink damask print and a silver tufted finish, and we set out a red rope and a prop table beside it.
Space required
Indoor or marquee use only, on a flat level surface. The space needed is 2.3m wide by 1.25m deep by 2.1m high.
How we hire it out
One of our own staff runs the booth throughout, not a sub-contractor or agency casual. All our staff hold enhanced DBS checks, which matters when the booking is a school prom, a youth group or a children's party. The electrics are PAT-tested annually. We have been running event hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, covering Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and into London, and we carry £10 million public liability insurance with additional licensed premises cover for pubs, clubs and bars. The certificate is available on request.
It tends to work at weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, school proms, Christmas parties, Halloween parties, graduation events, New Year's parties, christenings, engagement parties and freshers events. If you would rather a simpler setup, have a look at our green screen photo booth, the classic photo booth or the Magic Selfie Mirror, or see the full photo booths range. For somewhere closer to home, we cover photo booth hire in Portsmouth, Southampton and our own Havant. Send us the date and venue through our contact page and we will put a quote together.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Green Screen Dream Machine different from your standard green screen photo booth?
Both swap a background in behind the group using a green screen. Our standard green screen photo booth is the cylindrical model with a red curtain entrance and seven fixed backgrounds to pick from. The Dream Machine is the touchscreen model, with a much longer list of modes (themed sets, a 3D mode, a time machine, spoof magazine covers and more) running to over 800 background combinations, so it suits anyone who wants the widest choice rather than one fixed look.
What modes can guests choose on the touchscreen?
The menu has twelve modes. They are Classic Booth, Green Screen Booth, 3D Booth, Around the World, Time Machine, Big Edz, Magazine Covers, Pop Art, Wish You Were Here, Celebrations, Photo Booth Lottery and a Custom option. Several of those hold multiple themed sets, for example Big Edz has seven sets and Celebrations has seven, which is how the background count runs into the hundreds.
Can the Green Screen Dream Machine be set up outdoors?
It is for indoor or marquee use only, because it shoots against a green screen curtain on a DSLR camera and that does not cope with weather or strong daylight. It needs a flat level space 2.3m wide by 1.25m deep by 2.1m high, so a marquee with firm level ground works fine where there is no indoor room.
