Climbing Wall Hire
Our mobile climbing wall, sometimes called a mobile rock wall, is a four-sided rock-effect tower, ten metres tall, with auto-belay arms reaching out from the top of each face. Four climbers can be on the wall at once, one on each side, and the queue actually moves because nobody is waiting on a manual belayer.
The faces have moulded rock surfaces with green and grey resin holds set into them, mapped out for a mix of easier routes (for the children's parties and first-timers) and harder routes (for the climbers who turn up in their own kit and want a proper test).
How it works on the day
We bring the wall in on the lorry, set it up on grass or hard standing in around half an hour, and lay padded crash mats around the base. One of our trained staff stays with the wall throughout the hire and runs every climb: harness on, line clipped at the bottom, climber goes up, lets go at the top (or whenever they've had enough), and the auto-belay lowers them at a controlled rate. The customer doesn't need to know any of that.
We do need clear vehicle access for the lorry into the site, and enough overhead clearance for a ten-metre tower once it's up. If you're not sure your site will take it, send us a photo and we'll have a look before we quote.

What it suits
The wall works at children's birthday parties, school reward days, university and student union events, corporate fun days, team-building afternoons, fêtes and community events. It tends to do well at jobs with a mixed age range, because the easier faces pull in the younger climbers and the harder routes give the adults something to be competitive about. We've put it on tarmac at quayside events with a bit of room around it, on school playing fields, and on council-festival sites.
If you're putting on a bigger day, the wall pairs sensibly with our inflatable assault courses or the bungee run, and we can sort the lot on a single quote.
The kit, the people, and the paperwork
The wall is ours, owned outright, not sub-hired from anyone else. The staff running it on the day are our own employees, not casuals: RPII-examined for operating and supervising, first-aid trained, and enhanced-DBS registered, which is worth saying plainly for any job involving children, schools, faith groups or vulnerable adults.
We carry £10 million Public Liability Insurance covering indoor and outdoor work, plus the additional licensed-premises cover that lets us operate at pubs, clubs and bars (most small hire firms don't carry it, so they aren't actually cleared to work there). The certificate is yours on request. Risk assessments and method statements come as standard with every booking.
We've been running Monster Event Hire from our commercial unit in Havant since 2002, and we've got our own RPII-qualified inspector on the staff. The wall has been through someone who does this for a living before it ever turns up on your site.
Where we cover
We deliver and run the climbing wall across Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and London, from Portsmouth and Southampton up to Basingstoke, Guildford and into south-west London. If you're outside that, give us a ring anyway and we'll tell you whether we can make the journey work.

Hi Joanne
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Monster, who for the second year running, have provided an efficient, professional service from start to finish. Everything was delivered on time. The 60ft assault course was a great success! The 2 ‘delivery men’ were efficient and polite and we look forward to doing business with you next year.
Kind regards
