Laser Shot Shooting Simulator Hire
Laser Shot - sometimes called a shooting simulator, an indoor laser shooting game, or a laser shooting gallery - is a projected-target shooting game that sits inside a black pop-up booth. Players stand in front of a large screen and use recoil-free laser rifles and pistols to shoot at moving targets projected onto it. A camera reads the laser shots and scores each hit as it lands, so there is nothing physical flying about and nothing live being fired.
The software runs a range of game modes: Dove Shoot, Shooter's Challenge, Field Targets, Marksmanship Trainer, Speed Trainer, Timing Trainer and Speed Trap, among others. Each one works a bit differently - some are about speed, some about accuracy, some about working through a sequence of marks - and the variety means a group can keep coming back without it getting stale. The whole setup runs off a single 13-amp socket and we can dress the booth with a James Bond 007 theme if the event calls for it, with the silver 007 logo on the front table, spy silhouettes on the side panels and the game software itself switched to the Speed Trap mode which plays like a timed agent challenge.
It is a single-player game at any one time, which means it suits events where you want something people can queue for, have a go, and step away to let the next person in. Rounds are short - a minute or so each - so the queue moves quickly and the people standing behind get to watch the screen and see how the person ahead is getting on. The booth itself does a decent job of keeping stray light off the screen, but we still set it up indoors or under a marquee. Direct sunlight washes out a projected image, and there is no point putting it out in the rain.
Equipment and space
- Freestanding black pop-up booth with built-in projection screen and front table
- Recoil-free laser rifles and pistols (the lasers are harmless, no eye protection needed)
- Laptop-controlled software with multiple game modes and on-screen scoring
- Optional James Bond 007 theming with branded panels and front signage
- Requires one standard 13-amp socket
- Operating area: roughly 3m wide by 4.5m deep
- Indoor or marquee use (not outdoors in direct sunlight or rain)
- Staff-operated throughout the hire
Where it suits
It does well at corporate fun days, team-building events and office parties where people want something competitive but everyone can have a go regardless of age or fitness. It works at exhibitions and trade shows because the screen draws attention and the short rounds keep a stand busy without tying anyone up for long. We have taken it to Christmas parties, product launches, birthday celebrations, military balls, school leavers events and university freshers fairs. It also fits at weddings and private parties where the hosts want a few different activities running alongside each other rather than one big central attraction.
If you are putting together an entertainment package, the Lights Out Challenge and Chaos 4-player reaction game are both nearby in the electronic games range and work well alongside it. The outdoor laser clay pigeon shooting is worth a look if you have the outdoor space and want a multi-player shooting setup with proper replica shotguns rather than the indoor projected version. See the full electronic games range for everything else.

Frequently asked questions
What game modes does the Laser Shot have?
The software includes Dove Shoot, Shooter's Challenge, Field Targets, Marksmanship Trainer, Speed Trainer, Timing Trainer and Speed Trap. Each mode tests something different - Dove Shoot is a clay-pigeon-style game with birds crossing the screen, Speed Trainer is about hitting targets as fast as they appear, and Marksmanship Trainer works through a sequence with an accuracy score at the end. The operator can switch between modes throughout the hire so different groups get a different challenge.
How is Laser Shot different from laser clay pigeon shooting?
Laser Shot is an indoor projected-screen game where one player at a time shoots at moving images on a monitor or projection screen using a handheld laser gun. Our outdoor laser clay pigeon shooting is a different setup entirely - it uses deactivated replica shotguns, an automatic clay launcher firing physical targets into the air, and up to five people can shoot at once across a 30-metre run. If you have the outdoor space and want the more realistic shotgun experience, laser clays is the one to go for. If you are indoors or under a marquee and want a compact booth game that people can dip in and out of, Laser Shot is the better fit.
Can Laser Shot be set up outdoors?
It can go outdoors in a marquee or under solid overhead cover, but we do not set it up in direct sunlight because the projected image washes out and the scoring camera cannot read the laser shots reliably. It is not weatherproof either, so rain or damp ground rules it out. For a fully outdoor shooting game that does not depend on a screen, the laser clay pigeon shooting runs outside in most conditions.
How many people can play at once?
One at a time. It is not a multi-player game like laser clays or laser tag - the screen shows one set of targets and one person shoots at them while the next player watches and waits. Rounds take about a minute, so a single booth can put thirty or forty people through in an hour. If you want head-to-head play, the Lights Out Challenge is a two-player speed reaction table and Chaos handles four at once.
