London is about 70 miles from the workshop, A3 most of the way. We travel up regularly through the season with marquees, photo booths, rodeos, assault courses, dance machines and corporate fun-day packages, for office events, school fairs, university events, charity fundraisers and weddings across the city.

What we bring to London

One of our long-standing London jobs has been the annual Ealing Playday, a multi-thousand-attendee community day, and the corporate side runs through the city's offices, universities and business parks through the season. Public-facing London events tend to lean on the things back-garden hire firms typically don't have: £10m PLI with additional licensed-premises cover, PIPA tags, PAT certification, DBS-checked operators, and a documented wind-safety procedure. The borough pages go into the local detail: Enfield and Barnet cover the north, Islington the inner north, Hounslow, Brent and Harrow the west and north-west, Kensington, Wandsworth and Richmond upon Thames the west and south-west, and Sutton and Lewisham the south.

Site details and the paperwork

London sites are the most varied we work: school fields and city courtyards, parks and business-park lawns, with access that can mean narrow gateways, controlled parking zones and loading restrictions. The practical sums are the same as anywhere: the kit goes up within 50 metres of where the van parks, the way in is at least 36 inches wide, and each inflatable draws from a 13A socket within 20 metres. Parking for the van is the hirer's job, and if the nearest power point is a long way from the kit, the generator comes with us. Tell us the access and parking picture when you book and we'll plan the unloading around it.

The paperwork is ready for any venue, council or events team that asks. The insurance is £10 million public liability with the licensed-premises cover, the inflatables are PIPA tagged with numbers you can check on the national register, the electrics are PAT tested, and the risk assessment and method statement go with the booking. Our own crew runs the events, holding the RPII operator and supervisor exams, first-aid and enhanced DBS checks, and outdoor inflatables travel with an anemometer and the written 24mph rule.
