Mangle Run Hire

The Mangle Run - sometimes called an inflatable mangle, a crawl-through challenge or a squeeze obstacle course - is a wide, low inflatable where players work from one end to the other through a series of thick horizontal cylindrical rollers, with a low canvas canopy running the full length. The name is from the old laundry mangle - you get yourself through the tight gap between the rollers and the cover, from one end to the other, for the full 29ft.

The unit is 29ft long by 18ft wide and 7ft high. The rollers span the full 18ft width, and the canopy across the top keeps the clearance low, so players are pressed close to the padded floor as they go through. The whole floor is inflated. Multiple players can go simultaneously, which works well for head-to-head races, timed relays or groups rotating through. It takes up to 10 per team and can run 30 to 150 participants through over the course of a session.

Mangle Run hire across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and London

We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, and the Mangle Run is part of the fleet we own outright. We don't sub-contract, and the staff who come with it are our own. Every inflatable is tested and PIPA-tagged annually by our in-house RPII inspector under BS EN 14960:2019 - PIPA is the only inflatable inspection scheme recognised by the HSE. All our staff have passed the RPII operators and supervisors exams, are first-aid trained and hold enhanced DBS certificates, which matters for school bookings and council events. We carry £10 million public liability insurance with the certificate available on request, and we hold licensed-premises cover so there is no issue if your venue is a pub, club or bar. For outdoor hire we include an anemometer and a written wind-safety procedure: readings every 30 minutes, mandatory evacuation at 24mph (Force 5).

It works well alongside other pieces in the Wipeout challenge range. The Ball Run Challenge is a 60ft enclosed tunnel where players cross stepping pads while swinging balls try to knock them off, and the Cross Beam Challenge is a 35ft horizontal beam obstacle course.
