Fun day entertainment hire usually means several age groups, queues that change through the day and a site that has to work as a whole. One big inflatable may look impressive, but the useful question is how many people are coming, how long they have and whether shorter games are needed to spread the crowd.

Choosing a workable mix

Start with the age range and expected numbers rather than the biggest item on the list. An assault course gives older children and adults an obvious race, while a bouncy castle and classic carnival games work better for younger children. Shorter activities such as the Sweeper, high striker and football speed cage help spread people across the site instead of leaving one long queue.

For a mixed family day, it is usually sensible to keep the younger children's area away from faster competitive activities. We will help choose a balanced mix and set out which items come with our operators and which can be supervised by a competent adult from the organiser's team.

Work we have actually done

East Hampshire District Council worked with us for five years from the first year of its festival. Lucy Soal said the activities were "an absolute key element to our success" and that Joanne and the team dealt with requirements changing right up to and during the event. At Ealing Playday, the coordinators wrote that the day served hundreds of children and families despite difficult weather. More recently, we supplied National Grid's annual fun day in Hampshire in August 2026.

Those jobs vary in scale and product mix, which is why we do not sell one fixed fun-day package. Tell us whether the day is public, for staff and families, or run as groups moving through timed sessions. We also need the usable space, surface, access, power and opening hours so we can check the shortlist and likely queues.

We have run Monster Event Hire from our commercial unit in Havant since 2002, and the fleet and staff are our own. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, with risk assessments and method statements available. Inflatables are PIPA-tagged and inspected annually, and electrical equipment is PAT-tested.
