Giant Buzz Wire Hire
The Giant Buzz Wire - sometimes called a steady hand game, a hot wire game or beat the buzzer - is a freestanding mains-powered game where you guide a metal ring along a looping metal tube from one end to the other without the ring making contact with the tube. Touch the tube and the buzzer sounds. You go back to the start and try again.
Ours is "The Big Buzzer", a commercially manufactured game on two large weighted bases with around 19 feet of coiled tube running between them in a series of arcs. The whole thing is about nine feet long and four feet high. It runs off a single 13amp socket and sets up on grass, hard floors or in a marquee. A member of our team stays with it throughout the hire.
The rounds are short by design: a good attempt takes a minute or two, an average one considerably less. The sound of the buzzer when someone touches the wire has a way of making the people nearby look up, which tends to build a watching crowd on its own.

Works well at
It suits birthday parties, corporate fun days, school fun days, village fêtes and community festivals, Scout and Guide events, and charity fundraisers. It also works well on exhibition and trade show stands where the short round length suits a busy flow of visitors - the buzz announces itself to the wider room, which brings people over.
Giant Buzz Wire hire across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and London
We've run Monster Event Hire from our commercial unit in Havant since 2002 and all the kit is ours, owned outright with no sub-contracting. The buzz wire's electrics are PAT-tested every year by a certified tester and a risk assessment is available on request. Every member of our staff has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained, and holds an enhanced DBS certificate - worth knowing plainly for any booking involving children, schools or council events. We carry £10 million public liability insurance with the certificate on request, plus additional licensed-premises cover for pubs, clubs and bars.
If you want a second electronic game for the same event, the Mega Wire is a compact indoor steady-hand challenge, and the Lights Out Challenge is another quick-turnover 2-player reaction game. See the full electronic game hire range for everything else.
