Atari Pong Table

Atari Pong Table Hire - Officially Licensed, Electromechanical Pong

The Atari Pong table - sometimes called the Pong arcade table, Pong cocktail table or retro Pong hire - is an officially licensed recreation of the original 1972 game, but without a screen. Underneath the glass playing surface are motors, rails, pulleys and magnets that move real physical paddles and a ball across the field. The paddles and ball slide across the glass as the game runs, and people who haven't seen one before tend to stand and watch for a few seconds before they work out what they're actually looking at.

Each player controls their paddle using a large rotary spinner at their end of the table, with a red button to serve. Games run two players head-to-head or one player against the machine. The LED border around the playing surface cycles through colours during play, and the table runs its own arcade sounds throughout. There's a USB port to run your own music through the table's speakers if you'd rather. The two matching Atari-branded stools come out with the kit.

What you're hiring

  • Atari Pong cocktail table, officially licensed by Atari
  • Electromechanical playing surface - physical paddles and ball moved by magnets under the glass, no screen
  • Rotary spinner controls and red button at each end
  • Two players head-to-head or one vs the computer
  • Colour-changing LED border and built-in arcade sound
  • USB port for your own music through the table's speakers
  • Two matching Atari-branded stools
  • One of our staff to run and supervise throughout the hire
  • PAT-tested annually, like all our electrical kit

Where it tends to go

  • Christmas parties and office parties, where a retro competition tends to run well in the gap between the meal and the dancing
  • Corporate events, exhibitions and trade stands, where it draws a crowd and keeps people at the stand
  • University and freshers events
  • 70s and 80s themed parties and celebrations

Space and setup

The operational area is around 1m wide by 2.5m long, which includes the player space at each end. You'll need a minimum door width of 0.8m to get the cabinet in, so it's worth checking if your venue has any tight corridors or narrow doorways. It runs off a single standard 13amp socket and stays inside or in a marquee - we don't take it out on to open outdoor pitches.

Hampshire, Surrey and round our way

We run from a commercial unit in Havant, PO9, and cover Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and into London on our own vehicles. The kit is all ours - no sub-hiring - and the person who sets up on the day is one of our own staff (RPII-trained, first-aid trained, enhanced-DBS registered) rather than an agency casual. We're VAT-registered and carry £10 million public liability insurance, with the certificate available on request.

Christmas party and corporate dates fill up first, so it's worth getting the date and venue across to us early if you're planning ahead.

Have a look at the 80s retro arcade games or the racing simulator, or browse the full electronic games range if you're putting a larger package together.

Dear Joanne

Please can you pass on our thanks to Mark and Nathan for their fantastic supervision of the bungee run yesterday. They really made it such fun for all and everyone thought that they were brilliant. We had such a great afternoon and thank you so much, we will definitely use you again and most definitely recommend you.
