The Challenger

The Challenger is a 50ft inflatable challenge course built for teams rather than individuals. The front wall has three round, yellow-rimmed holes to climb through, and beyond them the course runs through lanes of padded pillars, rollers and barriers in red, green and blue, with a biff-and-bash run to the far end and back. It is the piece we use when a corporate day or a school event wants head-to-head racing rather than a straight obstacle run.

Groups from thirty up to a hundred and fifty go through it, in teams of up to ten, usually as timed relays or head-to-head heats. Because the teams queue at the holes and race each other down the lanes, it keeps a large event moving without much dead time, and the losing teams always want a rematch.

Works well at

Corporate fun days and team-building afternoons, school sports days and reward days, university and college events, scout and guide camps, and county shows. It sits in the middle of our Wipeout-style challenge range alongside the Cross Beam Challenge, the Wibble Wobble Soldiers and the Mangle Run, and it is a smaller-footprint alternative to the 100ft Boot Camp Challenge when the site will not take a full-length course.

The Challenger hire across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and London

We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, and the course is ours, stored and repaired at our own workshop. Every inflatable is PIPA-tagged and inspected each year by our in-house RPII inspector under the scheme the HSE recognises, the blowers are PAT-tested, and the staff are first-aid trained and enhanced-DBS registered. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, and the certificate, risk assessment and method statement are available for procurement teams on request. Outdoors we set up an anemometer and follow the written wind procedure, shutting down at 24mph.
