Green Screen Photo Booth

The Green Screen Photo Booth - sometimes called a chroma key photo booth - is an enclosed cylindrical booth with a tufted padded exterior, where guests pose in front of a green backdrop and pick one of seven backgrounds to appear behind them in the prints. The chroma key software swaps the green out and the photos come off the booth’s own printer on the night, so people take them away straightaway.

We put one of our staff on it throughout the hire to run the sessions, hand out prints and keep things moving. Each session produces four photos - colour, black and white or sepia, depending on what the group picks. Everything from the night, photos and any video clips, goes onto a USB stick that we hand to the organiser at the end. We add the event or company name to the print layout at no extra charge.

Backgrounds

Six green screen backgrounds and one without:

• Disco Fever - mirror ball, coloured floor lighting, various disco scene variations
• Hollywood - red carpet, velvet ropes, paparazzi lights, palm trees
• Beach - tropical beach with palm trees, in a few lighting variations
• Around the World - Sydney Opera House, Las Vegas, Paris Eiffel Tower, London Big Ben
• Underwater - coral reef with tropical fish
• Mystery - we load this with four images to match your event: Christmas, Halloween, an 80s night, or whatever fits
• Normal - standard backdrop without the green screen

Around 500 photos in a three-hour hire, give or take.

Props

Free prop box included with hats, masks, oversized glasses and novelty items. The booth has a tufted white exterior and a red curtain entrance, which tends to catch people’s attention from across the room.

Space required

Indoor or marquee use only, on a flat level surface. The space needed is 2.3m wide by 1.25m deep by 2.1m high.

How we hire it out

One of our own staff runs the booth throughout, not a sub-contractor or agency casual. All our staff hold enhanced DBS checks, which matters when the booking is a school prom, a youth group or a children’s party. The electrics are PAT-tested annually. We’ve been running event hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, covering Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and into London, and we carry £10 million public liability insurance with additional licensed premises cover for pubs, clubs and bars. The certificate is available on request.
