Surf Simulator hire
The Surf Simulator, sometimes called a rodeo surfboard, is a mechanical surfboard mounted in the centre of an inflatable landing bed, with palm-tree uprights and rum-and-whisky barrels at the corners for the tropical look. The rider stands on the board and our operator works the tilt and roll from a separate control unit, so we can keep it gentle for younger riders and first-timers, and turn it up for anyone in the queue who fancies their chances. Anyone who comes off lands on the inflatable bed underneath, not on the ground.
It works as a watch-and-queue ride as much as a take-a-turn one, so it tends to draw a crowd at fairs, fêtes and corporate fun days as well as at private parties.

How we hire it out
We own all of our kit, so the person setting up on the day is one of our staff, not a sub-contractor we've passed the job to. Everyone on the road has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained, and is enhanced-DBS registered, which matters if you're booking around children, schools, a faith community or vulnerable adults. The inflatable is PIPA-tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector. If you're outdoors we set up the anemometer and run the standard 24mph wind-speed cutoff, the same as we do with any inflatable.
We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, covering Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and into London. The policy carries £10 million public liability with additional licensed-premises cover for pubs, clubs and bars, and the certificate is on request.
