Didi Car Racers Hire

Didi Cars, also called wiggle cars, are self-propelled ride-on cars for children. There are no pedals, no batteries and no motors: the rider sits on the car and turns the wheel left and right to shuffle it forward, which sounds simple enough until you have got six of them on a track jostling for position and the competitive instincts have properly kicked in.

The cars come with their own red and black inflatable race track, about 9.5m long and 5.2m wide, with a chequered-flag archway over the start line. The track wants a smooth flat surface, so we run it on sports hall floors, community centres, school halls and similar indoor venues, and on smooth tarmac or playgrounds outdoors. It will not work on grass, because the wheels need something firm to push against.

Children from around three upwards get the hang of it in a lap or two, and it is one of the few pieces in the fleet where the racing genuinely works for the under-sevens, which is why it goes out to so many nursery and toddler sessions alongside the birthday parties.

Works well at

Children's birthday parties, nursery and toddler group sessions, school fun days and reward events, indoor community events, and family fun days in sports halls. We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, and the cars and track are ours. Any operator we send has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained and holds an enhanced DBS certificate, which nursery and school bookings tend to ask about. The blower is PAT-tested, the track is PIPA-tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector, and we carry £10 million public liability insurance with the certificate available on request.
