Enfield is right up at the top of London, and from our unit in Havant it's one of the longest runs we do, up the A3 and most of the way round the M25. It's worth getting the date to us early so we can plan the day's driving around your setup time.

London borough events usually go past a licensing or events team first, and they tend to want the insurance certificate, risk assessment, method statement and some proof the inflatables have been inspected. We send the lot with the booking: £10 million public liability, PIPA tag numbers they can check on the national database, and PAT certificates for anything electrical. Every inflatable also comes with an anemometer and a written procedure that takes it out of use if the wind gets to 24mph.

On a park or a school playing field the main things to sort out are where the van stops and where the power comes from. Under our terms the pitch needs to be within 50 metres of the van, down a route at least 36 inches wide, and each inflatable needs its own 13A socket within 20 metres, so if the field is a long way from the building we'll bring a generator. Finding somewhere for the van to park is the hirer's job, which in north London can mean a word with the school or the council about access on the day.
