Christmas Entertainment Southampton

Southampton Christmas work is mostly city-hotel staff parties, university and college balls and office dos across SO14 to SO19, and the December diary fills long before the summer one does. A typical booking is the rodeo reindeer as the headline with the Christmas photo booth in the corner and two or three electronic games between them. The workshop is about 22 miles east along the M27, which keeps the run to a Southampton December do simple.

At a Southampton ball or a big staff do the spread usually runs to three or four pieces: a rodeo reindeer or the snowboard simulator as the headline, the magic selfie mirror or Christmas photo booth against the wall, and electronic fillers such as the racing simulator and the retro arcade machines for the queues in between. Smaller Southampton rooms lean on the table games, and Whack an Elf plus the Christmas mega wire do that job without eating floor space.

This work has run from our own commercial unit in Havant since 2002, with a fleet we own outright and no sub-contracting. The rodeo attachments are ADIPS certified, the electronics are PAT-tested, every member of staff is enhanced-DBS registered, and the £10 million public liability certificate, risk assessment and method statement can go out with the Southampton quote.

If the Southampton party is one part of a bigger plan, the Southampton event hire page lists the lot: the bouncy castles for the summer fair, the assault courses for the older children, the rodeo bull that takes the reindeer attachment on the same machine, and the photo booths for the wedding season.

For a Southampton Christmas do, the details that decide the quote are the venue, the date, the access and the headcount. December Saturdays in Southampton go first, then the Friday nights, and the staffed pieces are limited by crew as much as kit, so the earlier the better.

Christmas party entertainment in Southampton - common questions

How far ahead should we book Christmas entertainment in Southampton?

December is the busiest month of the Southampton diary, and the first two weekends go first. Six to eight weeks ahead is comfortable for most items, and earlier is better for a Saturday night in mid-December with the rodeo reindeer or the grotto, because the staffed pieces are limited by people as much as kit.

Can you supply several attractions for one Southampton Christmas party?

That is most of our December work in Southampton: a rodeo or the snowboard simulator as the headline at the hotel end of town, the Christmas photo booth in the corner, and two or three electronic games filling the gaps. Multi-item bookings usually work out cheaper per item than hiring separately, and everything comes on one delivery to the Southampton venue.

Our Southampton venue is a hotel or pub with a licence. Is that a problem?

No. We carry additional licensed-premises insurance on top of the £10 million public liability policy, which is what licensed Southampton venues want to see before anyone sets up, and the certificates go out with the quote. Tell us the venue at enquiry stage and we will send the paperwork their way.

How much space and power does Christmas entertainment need at a Southampton venue?

The rodeo reindeer and the snowboard simulator each want a clear area of roughly 20ft by 20ft and one standard 13amp socket, the photo booths fit a level corner of about 2.3m by 1.25m, and the table games and arcade machines slot in wherever there is a table and a socket. Send the Southampton room measurements and we will confirm what fits before the date is held.
