Air hockey table hire

The air hockey table - sometimes called electric air hockey or table hockey - is a 7.5ft head-to-head game where two players stand at opposite ends with a striker each and try to knock the puck into the other one's goal. A blower under the playing surface pushes air up through small holes in the top, so the puck floats and goes about as fast as you can hit it, and the LED scorer at each end keeps count so nobody has to argue about the score.

Most people have played it in an arcade at some point, so nobody needs showing how it works, and a game only takes a few minutes, which keeps the queue moving at a Christmas party or a freshers fair. When the score gets close the people waiting their turn tend to crowd round and watch.

Where it goes out

It's an indoor game and it mostly suits corporate events, Christmas parties, awards evenings and conferences, as well as exhibitions, product launches, team-building days, birthday parties and university freshers fairs. We took it up to London for a company induction event with over 500 delegates, where it went in alongside our interactive darts, shuffleboard, table tennis, crazy golf, the dance machine and the magic mirror, and it's been out at black-tie evening dos with guests playing in their dinner suits.

Space, power and setup

The table is white on a black frame with a red trim along the sides and a lit score display at each end. It takes up 2.3m x 1.2m, and the players need room to stand and lean in at both ends, so leave a clear space round it and keep it away from the buffet and the walkways. It runs off a standard 13A socket, which needs to be close by because the puck won't float without the blower running.

It's normally hired self-supervised, but we can send one of our own staff to run it if you'd like someone keeping the games going through the evening. Our operators are first-aid trained and enhanced-DBS checked.
