Student Event Hire Lewisham

Student event hire in Lewisham runs on the further education calendar at Lewisham College, along with the sixth forms and students union socials across the SE postcodes. The vans reach the borough up the A3 and round the M25, around 75 miles from the workshop, and they're there most weeks of the summer term. Freshers fairs in September, the Christmas ball in December and leavers events in July are the dates we plan around.

A freshers fair works when someone walking past can work out the game in a few seconds. The high striker, the giant buzz wire, the under pressure light chaser and the dance machine all run indoors off one 13amp socket, and each one produces a score the queue can see. Arcade machines, interactive darts and the Batak Pro fill the rest of the hall, and a photo booth comes staffed and prints on the night so the students take the print away with them.

Evening events and leavers

The evening side of the student year takes bigger kit. The rodeo bull works indoors if the ceiling height allows, and it wants roughly 20ft by 20ft of clear floor with our operator on the control box. The surf simulator and the last man standing sweeper are the two we load most often for balls, leavers nights and student accommodation socials, and the queue tends to look after itself once the first few riders have had a go.

We were in London for a prep school's year six leavers evening in July 2026 with the surf simulator and the sweeper, and leavers days of that shape fill a good share of the summer diary across the capital. A Lewisham booking gets the same crew, the same kit and the same paperwork as a job five minutes from the yard. Common rooms and SU bars run on ordinary 13amp sockets, so the electronic games sit in them without any electrical work.

Rooms, access and the paperwork

College and SU bookings here usually go through an events office or a procurement route, and the documents get asked for early in the process. We're a family firm, run by Joanne and David Morris out of our unit in Havant since 2002, and we hold £10 million public liability insurance with the licensed-premises top-up for the venues that need it. The risk assessment and method statement are sent with the quote, and every crew member we send is enhanced-DBS registered, which counts for a lot when the year group includes under-18s.

Is the event in a hall, a common room or out on a field? Marquees need flat grass because of the anchor pins, and anything inflatable outdoors goes out with an anemometer and the written 24mph cutoff. Parking for the van is the hirer's job, and round Lewisham that can mean a controlled parking zone, so it's worth sorting the bay early.

The Lewisham event hire hub lists the full local range, and the garden games hire in Lewisham page covers the giant games and the golf courses that need no power at all. The national picture sits on the student and freshers event hire and college and university event hire pages. The last man standing sweeper and the green screen photo booth are the two product pages student bookers tend to open first.

For a quote, send the institution, the event type, the date, the room or site, the timings, the expected numbers and whether people arrive in waves. Tell us where the power and the loading door sit, and if the booking runs through procurement, give us the deadline so the insurance certificate and the risk assessment are in the file in good time.

Monster Event Hire were absolutely brilliant, from swift email communication to attentive service on the day. The students, 250 of them, had an incredible time and Dave and the girls were outstanding. I would definitely use them again and look forward to developing this over the coming years.
