Student Event Hire Farnborough
Student event hire in Farnborough mostly means the GU14 campus, where UC Farnborough and Farnborough College of Technology between them run sixth form, degree and apprenticeship courses. The student diary fills with freshers fairs in September, Christmas balls in December, then leavers days, graduation events and summer balls through the late spring. We have supplied that calendar from our unit in Havant since 2002, with the campus about 43 miles up the A3 and the A331.
September through to graduation
Freshers week is where the Farnborough student year starts for us. We ran the dance machine and the photo booth at the college freshers fair in September 2026, with the booth customised in the college's own branding and logos, and the pair drew a steady queue all day. A freshers fair works best with games that explain themselves while people walk past, so the high striker, the giant buzz wire and the dance machine make up the core of most of these bookings, and the booth gives people something to come back to between the stalls.
Graduation is the other GU14 fixture we know first hand. In October 2025 we took the magic selfie mirror over to the UC Farnborough graduation to capture the graduates with their families as they came out of the ceremony. The mirror comes staffed and prints on the night, so the queue gets a printed strip to take home, and graduation bookings usually want it in the bar or reception area for a couple of hours either side of the official photography.
The rest of the college year
December brings the ball season and the college Christmas fair, where we supplied the green-screen Christmas photo booth and the Lights Out challenge in December 2025. The February ball follows once the new year settles in, and in July 2026 we were back on campus for the end of year achievements event. Applicants days and taster weeks sit either side of those, and a booking that runs two or three days on the trot is normal summer work for us.
Halls, sockets and the file
The sports halls and common rooms on a college campus run off standard 13amp sockets, which covers the dance machine, the arcade machines and the reaction games without anything special. The rodeo bull needs around 20ft by 20ft of floor plus the ceiling height over it, so it's worth measuring the hall before it goes on the shortlist. Where a freshers fair sits out on the grass, the 28ft by 58ft marquee goes over the stalls, and its anchor pins want flat grass to hold properly.
Student unions and college events offices tend to book through a procurement route, and the file that comes with it is ready before you ask. The £10 million public liability certificate including licensed-premises cover, the risk assessment and the method statement all go across with the quote. Every inflatable carries a PIPA tag with the yearly inspection from our own RPII examiner, and the crew we send are all on the enhanced-DBS register, which matters when a college crowd includes under-18s. The fleet is owned outright, so nothing arrives through a sub-contractor.
The Farnborough event hire hub lists the wider range, and the local pages cover the pieces that go out together most often, starting with rodeo bull hire in Farnborough and photo booth hire in Farnborough. The inflatable hire Farnborough page covers the assault courses. The student and freshers events page and the college and university events page set out the two halves of the calendar, and the rodeo bull and green screen photo booth pages show the individual kit.
For a quote, send the institution, the type of event, the date and the room or site, with the timings, roughly how many students are coming and whether they arrive in waves. If it runs through procurement, give us the deadline and the paperwork goes in early. The workshop phone is answered Monday to Saturday, 9 to 5.
Monster Event Hire were absolutely brilliant, from swift email communication to attentive service on the day. The students, 250 of them, had an incredible time and Dave and the girls were outstanding. I would definitely use them again and look forward to developing this over the coming years.
