Student Event Hire Chichester
Student event hire in Chichester runs through the University of Chichester and its students' union, who have us back for the summer ball, plus the school and college events across the West Sussex patch. The 2026 ball had the rodeo bull, the inflatable axe throwing and the interactive play system, and the year before ran the rodeo bull again with the foot darts and the bungee run. The run from our unit in Havant is about twelve miles along the A27.
The university year
The SU calendar gives the university three busy windows. September's freshers fair and welcome events call for kit with quick turns and a score on display, the December and February balls want evening attractions with a queue, and May to July brings the summer ball onto whatever green the SU can book. The University of Chichester's union has had the summer ball from us two years running, with the rodeo bull, the inflatable axe throwing and the interactive play system at the 2026 one and the rodeo bull, the foot darts and the bungee run the year before. Summer balls are where the bigger kit goes, and the rodeo bull is the regular pickup for them.
Kit for each part of the term
For daytime events where students drift between stalls, the machines with visible scores do the work: the high striker, the giant buzz wire, the dance machine, Under Pressure, interactive darts, Batak Pro and the arcade machines. They're all indoor, plug-in kit on standard 13amp sockets, so a refectory, a hall or an SU bar can host the lot with no special power.
Evenings move to the bigger attractions. The rodeo bull and the surf simulator headline most college balls, with the rodeo working indoors where the ceiling height allows and asking for a clear area of roughly 20ft by 20ft. Photo booths and the magic selfie mirror arrive with an attendant and print on the night, which is why they anchor graduation events as well as balls.
A marquee keeps outdoor stalls dry, and the freshers fair marquee we took to Sparsholt College measured 28ft by 58ft; a footprint like that wants flat grass because the anchor pins go into the ground. For summer balls and sports days, the climbing wall, laser tag, the assault courses and laser clays cover the outdoor side, with the anemometer out and the 24mph limit applied.
Sites, power and paperwork
Chichester sites are usually the university itself, a hired hall or one of the district's parks and fields, and the practical sums hold everywhere. The van parks within 50 metres of where the kit stands, the route in needs 36 inches of width clear, and each inflatable takes its own 13amp socket within 20 metres. If the venue is inside the old city walls where the streets run narrow, the parking conversation is worth having early.
Bookings here tend to go via the SU, a college events office or a procurement route, and the documents are ready with the quote. The risk assessment and method statement cover the venue's questions as well as the union's, and where under-18s attend, the enhanced-DBS registration held by every crew member answers the safeguarding one first.
The electricals are PAT tested, the crew are all first-aid trained, and they hold the RPII operator and supervisor exams that colleges and councils look for. Every inflatable is PIPA tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector, so the inspection record can be checked on the national database before anyone signs us off.
The Chichester event hire hub has the full range for the district, and the garden games hire page covers the giant games, crazy golf and staffed axe throwing. The student and freshers page and the college and university page lay out the wider student calendar, and the rodeo bull and green screen photo booth product pages hold the dimensions and running detail for the two most-booked student items.
For pricing, tell us the date, the venue or room, the rough headcount, the timings and whether the year group comes through in waves. Send the power and access picture with it if you can, along with any procurement date we're working to, and the quote lands with the certificates attached.
We hired the rodeo bull for the 2nd time and the high striker for our students welcome event and it was great! It became quite a challenge amongst the students to see who was best.
