Student Event Hire Oxford
University event hire in Oxford covers one of the densest student calendars we work with, from the University of Oxford colleges through Oxford Brookes University to City of Oxford College. There are freshers fairs in September, balls in December and February, and a long run of summer balls and graduation events from May to July. The trip out from Havant is about 75 miles, A34 most of the way, and it's a routine run for the vans.
Oxford's student events calendar keeps a college events office busy from autumn to summer. September brings the freshers fairs, where stalls line a quad or a marquee and the games that matter are the ones people can understand at a glance. December and February bring the ball season, and from May to July the leavers dinners, applicants days and graduation events stack up one after another.
What we send to balls and fairs
For the evening balls, the rodeo bull and the surf simulator are the regular pickups, and the bull runs indoors where the ceiling allows it, needing around 20ft by 20ft of floor with the operator beside it. Graduation events and balls take the photo booths, which come staffed and print on the night, and the magic selfie mirror sits well in a college function room. For a fair, the high striker, the Batak Pro, the dance machine, the arcade machines and interactive darts all run off standard 13amp sockets and turn people round in short rounds. A party marquee over the stalls wants flat grass for its anchor pins, so tell us where the fair pitches on campus.
Our own inspection work takes us into Oxford as well as the hiring. We run PIPA inspections across the city, a youth group among them in April 2026, and we also test inflatables for a university sports department, so we see the state other operators' kit is in as well as our own. On the graduate side, we ran an event for the Science and Technology Facilities Council at Cosener's House in Abingdon, where the organiser passed on our name in the report written for senior managers afterwards.
Quads, gateways and power
College sites bring their own access questions, with arches and narrow gateways to pass through on the way to a quad or a lawn. The practical limits are the ones we work to everywhere: the van parks within 50 metres of where the kit goes up, the way in is at least 36 inches wide, and the electronic games want a socket within reach. If the nearest power is a long walk from the pitch, we bring a generator along. Outdoor inflatables travel with an anemometer and the 24mph wind rule, and the annual PIPA inspection each one gets from our in-house RPII inspector keeps the tags current on the national database.
The paperwork side suits a college office or a procurement route. We own the entire fleet outright, so the kit we quote is the kit that arrives with no sub-contracting in between, the electricals are PAT tested every year, and the risk assessments and method statements are ready on request. The office answers Monday to Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 10 to 4 if an events team is building a file.
The Oxford event hire hub covers the wider local range and the garden games hire in Oxford page lists the giant games and both golf courses. The student and freshers event hire and college and university event hire pages set out the calendar nationally. For the ball and graduation side, the rodeo bull and green screen photo booth product pages carry the detail.
To get a quote moving, send the college or university, the event type, the date, the site or room, the timings and the rough numbers, and say whether the guests arrive in waves. If there's a procurement deadline, tell us at the start and we'll have the certificates and statements in the file well before it.
We hired the rodeo bull for the 2nd time and the high striker for our students welcome event and it was great! It became quite a challenge amongst the students to see who was best.
