Student Event Hire Havant

Student and college event hire in Havant is local work in the strictest sense, because the workshop sits at South Leigh Farm, just off South Leigh Road in PO9, and every item on this page lives there between jobs. The Havant campus of HSDC, Havant and South Downs College, sits in the town, and the school calendar around it runs freshers season, reward days and leavers celebrations we can reach within minutes of leaving the yard. We've traded from the same site since 2002, originally as Little Monsters Event Hire, so the town's schools and colleges have been hiring off this yard for over twenty years.

The college year in Havant opens with freshers fairs and welcome days in September, runs through the Christmas ball and the February ball, and finishes with the leavers and summer events that fill late June and July. HSDC's student union and enrichment teams book this kind of kit for exactly those dates, and the schools round PO9, PO10 and PO11 fill the same weeks with reward days and year six leavers celebrations. Being the home town, we see more of that calendar here than anywhere else.

What we've run in the town this year

A school reward day in July 2026 had the Big Red assault course set up indoors, the inflatable axe throwing and a bungee run that had only just come out of the workshop. The same summer term closed with a Year 6 leavers celebration on a 50ft inflatable assault course and the beach party bouncy castle, which is the shape of most primary leavers dos we run. In August the climbing wall went out to the town's Festival Family Fun Day with the harnesses and mats, and that is the outdoor end of the range a summer event on a field can draw on. Out towards Emsworth, the One Youth nights have had the laser tag arena and, on a February evening, the rodeo bull, and those bookings come round often enough now to sit in the diary as regulars.

For a freshers fair or a welcome day, the short-round games do the work: the high striker, the giant buzz wire, the dance machine and Under Pressure all suit students walking past in numbers. The magic mirror and the green screen booth both arrive with an attendant and print photographs there and then, so the union or the college office never staffs them itself. A rodeo bull fits a student union bar if the ceiling is high enough, and it wants roughly a 20ft by 20ft square of floor.

Why booking locally is different

The van is loaded a few minutes from most Havant venues, so a site visit before the date is easy to arrange if the room is unusual. The usual terms still apply: the kit stands within 50 metres of where the van stops, the route in is at least 36 inches wide, and each inflatable draws from its own 13amp socket within 20 metres. If the nearest power point is a long walk from the pitch, the generator comes with us, and parking for the van remains with the hirer.

The business is family-run by Joanne and David Morris, and has been since 2002. Every inflatable is PIPA tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector, from the same South Leigh Farm site where we run the annual PIPA inspections for other hire firms in the area, the electricals are PAT tested, and every crew member is first-aid trained. That combination is what a school office or a college procurement team asks for, and it is on file here already.

The Havant event hire hub lists everything that goes out from the yard, with the rodeo bull hire Havant, photo booth hire Havant and assault course hire Havant pages covering the three pieces student events book most. The student and freshers event hire and college and university event hire pages set out the full student range, and the dance machine and sweeper pages cover two more freshers regulars.

For a quote, tell us the college, school or union, what the event is, the date and the timings, which room or field it sits on, and roughly how many students are coming. Because we're round the corner, late additions to the kit list are usually workable, but the earlier the date is in the diary the better, and July fills first.

We hired the rodeo bull for the 2nd time and the high striker for our students welcome event and it was great! It became quite a challenge amongst the students to see who was best.
