Student Event Hire Eastleigh

Student event hire in Eastleigh is mostly sixth form work, with Barton Peveril Sixth Form College the big centre in the town. Its year runs new-lower-sixth induction days in September, socials through the winter, then leavers events and a summer ball once exams finish. The workshop is about 24 miles back down the M27, so an Eastleigh date is one of the shorter runs on our round.

A sixth form calendar

A sixth form college runs a different diary to a university. The new lower sixth arrive in September straight off their GCSEs and hardly know each other, so induction and welcome days want attractions that break the ice fast and move whole tutor groups through in minutes. The leavers season lands once exams end, and that's when the bigger outdoor kit earns its place on the calendar.

For induction days, welcome events and any freshers-style fair, we'd load the high striker, the giant buzz wire, the dance machine, Under Pressure and the arcade machines. They're electronic plug-in games that sit happily on 13amp sockets, they fit a hall or a common room, and a score everyone can read does the recruiting without any help.

Leavers and summer-ball kit

Leavers afternoons and the summer ball take the rodeo bull, the surf simulator or the last man standing sweeper. Indoors, the rodeo needs roughly 20ft by 20ft of clear floor and the ceiling height to match, and a photo booth comes staffed and printing on the night, which spares the college staff from running it between speeches.

Where there's college grass or a field within reach, the marquee, climbing wall, laser tag and laser clays cover the outdoor end of the year. Outdoor inflatables travel with an anemometer and come off at 24mph of wind under the written procedure, and marquees need flat grass for the anchor pins.

Booking a college in Eastleigh

Sixth form colleges usually book through an enrichment or events office, sometimes through the SU where it runs the social side. With under-18s making up most of the roll, the safeguarding questions come first, and the enhanced-DBS registration held by every member of our crew is the answer the college office is looking for.

Multi-day bookings are routine, and we once covered three straight days of applicants events at a college with the magic selfie mirror, so a two-day induction programme is no stretch. The run from Havant is about 24 miles, M27 most of the way, which keeps midweek dates easy and the mileage small.

The public liability cover runs to £10 million with the licensed-premises element included, the risk assessment and method statement are written for each booking, and the office is open Monday to Saturday nine to five and Sundays ten to four.

The Eastleigh event hire hub pulls the whole local range together, with rodeo bull hire, photo booth hire and garden games hire the pages closest to student work. The students and freshers and college and university events pages cover the wider calendar, and the sweeper and dance machine product pages list what each one needs in space and power.

To get a quote moving, tell us the date on the college calendar, the hall or field it lands on, the year group sizes, the timings and whether the students come through in waves. If it's going through procurement, pass us the deadline and we'll aim the documents at it.

Well organised. Our students really enjoyed the event
