Student Event Hire Barnet

University and college event hire in Barnet runs to two campuses above all, Barnet and Southgate College at its Wood Street site and Middlesex University's Hendon campus within the borough. Neither is on our student diary yet, so what follows is the kit that suits their calendars and the practicalities of running it in north London. The run from Havant is about 85 miles, which shapes the quote but never the kit list.

Two campuses, one student calendar

Between them, Barnet and Southgate College's Wood Street campus and Middlesex University's Hendon site give the borough a student population running from further education through to degree level. Their events people book the same student events any city campus runs: freshers fairs in September, welcome days and accommodation socials through the autumn, the Christmas ball season, the February balls, then the summer ball and graduation window from May to July.

Fair kit has to work on footfall. How many first-years does the welcome day bring through the door? That number sets how many stations a fair needs. The high striker, the giant buzz wire, the dance machine, the arcade machines, interactive darts and the Batak Pro all run short turns with scores people can see, which is what stops a walking crowd. The photo booths and the selfie mirror come with an attendant and print on the night, and the booth skin can carry the college's or the SU's own branding.

For the evening side, the rodeo bull and the surf simulator carry a ball, and the under pressure lights out challenge works with the hall lights down. The review below is from a student accommodation event where the rodeo did exactly that job for the residents. The bull wants roughly 20ft by 20ft plus height overhead to buck, and the electronic games run off the standard 13amp sockets a common room or SU bar is wired with.

Getting kit into a north London campus

Barnet is roughly 85 miles from the unit, up the A3 and round the M25, so a morning set-up gets planned the day before, load list first. The distance changes the travel line on the quote and nothing else. The borough's bigger community days, the East Barnet Festival among them, run on full compliance packs, and a campus booking is held to the same standard.

Student events at this level usually arrive through an events office or a procurement portal, and London procurement teams ask for the paperwork early. Multi-day bookings, an applicants week with morning and afternoon sessions for instance, are routine for us. Where college events include under-eighteens, the enhanced-DBS registration held by every one of our staff is usually what unblocks the sign-off.

We own every item in the fleet, so no booking is handed to a sub-contractor, the inflatables are PIPA tagged and inspected annually by our own RPII inspector, the electricals carry their PAT certificates, and the public liability cover runs to £10 million with the licensed-premises extension for SU venues that need it.

The Barnet event hire hub covers everything we run in the borough, and the photo booth hire Barnet, rodeo bull hire Barnet and garden games hire Barnet pages break out the individual kit. The student range as a whole is on the students and freshers and college and university events pages, and the green screen photo booth and dance machine are the two we would put in a Barnet freshers fair first.

For a quote, tell us the campus and the building, the event type, the date, the rough numbers and whether students arrive in waves across the day or all at once. Power and access matter most in London buildings, so send the room name, where the sockets sit and how the kit gets from the loading bay, along with any procurement deadline.

David & Mark were absolutely fantastic - we hired a rodeo bull for our student accommodation event and the residents absolutely loved it.
