Space Bouncy Castle 12ft x 14ft

The Space bouncy castle - sometimes called a space aliens bouncy castle or an astronaut bouncy castle - is a 12ft by 14ft children's inflatable done out in blue, with the whole thing painted up as a trip into space. The top arch has planets across it, a ringed one like Saturn among them, and little rockets in the corners. A friendly orange alien sits on the left front pillar, a spaceman stands on the right next to a green rocket, and on the back wall behind the bounce area there is another alien and a moon buggy with a driver in it. The bounce bed is red down the middle with green sides, and it is open at the front so you can keep an eye on the children from outside while they bounce.

It stands around 11ft high, which is at the taller end of our children's castles, so it is really an outdoor castle for a garden or a field rather than one for a low village hall. It comes with a fitted shower cover over the top, so a passing shower doesn't have to send everyone indoors, though the cover is not a reason to carry on in heavy rain or a stiff wind, and we still work to the wind cutoff on the safety paperwork. You want a flat, well-drained patch of grass or hard standing, with a bit of room around the castle for the blower, the anchor points and children getting on and off. If there is a narrow side gate, a slope or a low branch in the way, tell us when you enquire and we will work out whether it fits. The photo shows it set up out on the grass, which is the kind of spot it suits.

It is rated for children only, so this one is for a kids' party rather than a mixed adult-and-child crowd. It tends to work at children's birthday parties, school fun days, nursery and playgroup events, christenings, village fêtes and church or community days. We can usually fit in a short-notice booking, so it is worth asking even if your date is close.

How we hire it out

We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, and all the kit is ours. The person who delivers and sets up is one of our own staff, not a sub-contractor. Everyone on the road has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained, and is enhanced-DBS registered, which matters when the booking is a children's party, a school or a playgroup. The castle is PIPA-tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector, and it is built to BS EN 14960:2019. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, with the certificate and the risk assessment available on request, and we hold additional licensed-premises cover, so a booking at a pub, club or social club is no problem.
