Pirate 2 Bouncy Castle 12ft x 14ft

The pirate bouncy castle - sometimes called a pirate-themed bouncy castle or a kids' pirate castle - is a 12ft by 14ft children's inflatable done out in blue, with a cartoon pirate on each of the two front pillars, sword in hand and eyepatch on, and the word "PIRATES" in big letters across the back wall. The entrance has a red padded crossbar over it and a green-striped step at the front, and the bounce bed inside is purple. It is an open-top castle, so there is no roof over the bed and you can keep an eye on the children from outside while they bounce.

The thing that sets this one apart from most of our castles is the height. It stands 9ft high, which is lower than most of our castles, and that lower profile is the whole point: it goes into village halls, community centres and school halls with low ceilings that a taller castle will not clear. The photo shows it set up indoors in a hall, which is the kind of venue it is meant for. It wants a flat floor or a flat, well-drained patch of grass, and the things worth flagging when you enquire are the ceiling height indoors, any narrow doorway or gate, and where the nearest socket is.

It is suitable for children only, so it is the castle for a children's birthday party, a school fun day, a church or community event, or any indoor do in a hall where the ceiling is on the low side. For mixed-age groups or grown-ups who want a bounce, have a look at our Big Top bouncy castle, which is rated for adults as well. Because the pirate castle is open-topped with no shower cover, an indoor hall is the safer bet if the forecast looks iffy.

Komal hired one of our castles at short notice and wrote afterwards to thank us "for the smooth service... and also for being able to accommodate us at such late notice", adding that "the bouncy castle was loved by all". We can often fit in a last-minute booking, so it is worth asking even if your date is close.

How we hire it out

We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, and all the kit is ours. The person who delivers and sets up is one of our own staff, not a sub-contractor. Everyone on the road has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained, and is enhanced-DBS registered, which matters when you are booking for a school, a children's party or any event with young people. The castle is PIPA-tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector, and it is built to BS EN 14960:2019. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, with the certificate and the risk assessment available on request, and we hold additional licensed-premises cover, so there is no issue if your venue is a pub, club or bar.

If you are not sure the castle will clear your hall ceiling, tell us the venue details when you enquire and we will check it for you. We also keep a 12ft by 14ft jungle bouncy castle if you want a different theme, along with a Toy Story bouncy castle and a princess castle with a side slide for younger party-goers. The full range is on the children's bouncy castles page.

Have a look at our bouncy castle hire in Havant, Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and Surrey for more on coverage in your area. Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how many children you are expecting, and we will put a quote together.

Frequently asked questions

Will the pirate castle fit in a low-ceiling hall?

It stands 9ft high, which is lower than most of our castles, so it clears a lot of village-hall, community-centre and school-hall ceilings that taller units will not. It is the one we point people to for indoor parties where the ceiling is on the low side. We still need the ceiling height, the access route and a standard 13-amp socket within reach, so tell us the venue details when you enquire and we will confirm it fits before the day.

Is the pirate bouncy castle suitable for adults?

No. This castle is rated for children only, so it is not one for the grown-ups to bounce on. If you want a castle that takes adults as well, our Big Top bouncy castle is rated for adult and children's use together and comes in two larger sizes.

How much space do I need for the 12ft by 14ft pirate castle?

The castle itself is 12ft wide by 14ft deep, but you need extra room around it for the blower, the anchoring and a clear way in. A flat floor indoors or a flat, well-drained patch of grass outdoors works best. The main things to flag at the quote stage are any narrow gate or doorway, a slope, or a low ceiling if you are indoors.
