50ft Fun Fair Assault Course

The fun fair assault course - sometimes called a funfair obstacle course or inflatable fun run - is our 50ft unit with carnival artwork across every panel. You've got a clown holding balloons, a grinning wolf, a roller-coaster cart and a shark, all printed across orange, purple, green and blue sections. Green-trimmed mesh windows run down both sides so parents or stewards can see what's going on without having to squeeze inside.

It places more emphasis on fun than ardent competitiveness. You start at the run section and push through the bish and bash columns - inflated vertical pillars in green and blue that fill the width of the course so you have to squeeze between them. From there you climb over red padded hurdles, get through the orange tunnel with green trim round the arch, pass the purple wall with its circular porthole windows, and finish with a slide. The slide has an orange bed, green and pink sides, a blue mesh canopy at the top and a purple landing cushion at the bottom.

The whole thing runs in a straight line, so the queue forms at the entry end and finishers come off the slide at the other. That's the shape you want if you're trying to keep a steady flow at a school fair or a community festival.

What you need on site

  • Length: 50ft, with a bit of extra room at both ends for access and the blower
  • Width: 12ft, plus a little either side for staking and for people to walk round
  • Height: 13ft at the tallest point
  • Power: two standard 13-amp household sockets within reach of the blowers
  • Surface: grass or hard standing, level and clear of sharp objects
  • Access: wide enough to wheel the rolled sections through on a sack truck; if your gate or path is tight, send us a photo and we'll tell you if it'll go

Where it works

It tends to do well at children's birthday parties, school sports days and reward days, Scout and Guide camps, village fetes and community fun days, corporate family days, team-building days and summer barbecues, and church or charity events. We've had it at weddings too, usually on the lawn while the reception is going on inside, and it works indoors in a sports hall or marquee as long as the ceiling clears 13ft. It's suitable for children and adults, though the really small ones might find the tunnel and hurdles a stretch.

If you need something longer or differently themed, the Fun Fair course pairs with our 60ft Army Assault Course, the Party Time Assault Course, or the Pirate Ship Assault Course. Have a look at the full range of inflatable assault courses and obstacle courses if you want to compare sizes and artwork.

The kit, the people, and the paperwork

The course is ours, kept at our unit in Havant and owned outright, not sub-hired from another firm. We've run Monster Event Hire from Unit 9 South Leigh Farm, Havant, PO9 2NX, since 2002, and Joanne and David Morris own the business between them.

Our staff are RPII-examined for operating and supervising inflatables, first-aid trained, and enhanced-DBS registered - which matters when your event involves children, schools, or vulnerable adults. The blowers and electrics are PAT-tested annually, and every inflatable in our fleet carries a PIPA tag traceable against the national database. We carry £10 million public liability insurance, indoors and outdoors, and the certificate is yours on request. If your venue is licensed - a pub, a club, a bar - we hold the additional licensed-premises cover that most small operators do not, so you won't get turned away at the door for lack of paperwork.

We put a risk assessment and method statement together for every booking, and every inflatable hire comes with an anemometer and a written wind-safety procedure: 24mph cutoff, mandatory evacuation, recordings every half hour by whoever's supervising on your end. That's the same protocol whether it's a village fete or a ten-thousand-pound corporate day.

The Fun Fair course is self-supervised hire, meaning you or someone you nominate keeps an eye on it while it's running. If you'd rather one of our team supervised it for you, we can quote for that.

What our customers say

Coldstream Guards Welfare said: "We have hired from this company several times, we last used them for our families day in August. All the guests enjoyed the entertainment and the children loved the assault course and sweeper. The staff were very helpful and professional and the prices for a few hours entertainment are very good."

Where we cover

We deliver and set up across Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and into London, from Portsmouth and Southampton up to Basingstoke, Guildford and Havant. If you're outside that, give us a ring and we'll tell you if the journey works.

Have a look at the photos, give us a call on the number at the top of the page or fill in the contact form and Joanne will put a quote together that accounts for travel, duration, staffing and whatever else you're hiring alongside it. We only quote on jobs we can actually do and we don't push upsells or tack on extras you don't need.
