iWall Step Up!

The iWall is a gaming wall - twin screens, a sensor bar above them and a marked mat on the floor - made in Finland by CSE Entertainment, and it runs on movement: you play it with your body, and the games answer. Step Up! is the dance game: the moves come up on the screens and you match them, with the points going to whoever times and matches them closest. The maker's line is that it has moves for the people with the killer ones and the people with two left feet, and that everyone dances at their own level, which has been true of every dance floor we've ever supplied.

You dance on the floor mat and the sensor reads how closely you follow, so it's a real dance game with a scoreboard, and there's no mat to hire in or pads to stomp on - the whole body is the controller. It trains rhythm, timing and coordination, per the maker, and two players can go head to head on the screens.

It works at the same bookings as our dance machine: birthday parties, school discos, Christmas parties, university events and the evening end of a corporate day. The Hyper Slam racket game and Shadow Master movement game sit either side of it on the same unit's menu.

The unit is our iWall, one of only a handful in the country. It's freestanding with a floor mat in front, so it needs a clear run of floor and a socket within reach, and we confirm the running space, power and staffing on the quote once we know the room. The first picture is the maker's screenshot of the game, the second is the wall in use at a hotel event, and our own event photos will follow once the wall's been out a few times.

The wall's electrics are PAT-tested every year, the £10 million public liability certificate and the risk assessments are there for your venue's paperwork, and our own crews deliver, set up and collect.
