Gladiator Jousting

Gladiator Jousting - sometimes called a gladiator duel, a pugil stick challenge or an inflatable American Gladiators game - is a two-player head-to-head contest on an 18ft x 20ft red and blue inflatable arena.

The arena has a padded inflatable floor, low walls around the edge, and two raised platforms in the centre, one at each end. Both players put on a head guard, pick up one of the large padded foam poles and step onto their platform. The aim is simple: you stay on your platform and try to knock the other player off theirs. Any fall is absorbed by the inflatable floor, and the padded walls mean there is nowhere hard to land.

It tends to draw a crowd fairly quickly. The rounds are short and the knockdowns come without much warning, so there are usually people gathered around the edge watching as much as waiting for their own go. That makes it useful at events where throughput matters, because the queue stays engaged.

Suitable for teens and adults. We take it out across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and London - to birthday parties, corporate fun days, school sports events, village fêtes and community festivals.

We run it throughout your hire. The staff who deliver and set up are the same people supervising every game, and everyone on our road has passed the RPII operators and supervisors examinations, is first-aid trained and holds an enhanced DBS check - which makes a real difference if you’re booking for a school or a youth group. The inflatable is PIPA-tagged and inspected annually by our in-house RPII inspector. We carry £10 million Public Liability Insurance, and the certificate is available on request.

We also have the Rock ‘n’ Roller Gladiator Joust, where both players share a single rotating and rocking base so balance becomes as much of the fight as the pugil sticks. And if you want something similar but less physical, the Pole Jousting uses pillows rather than pugil sticks, with players balancing across a bar rather than standing on platforms.
