iWall Touchdown

The iWall is a gaming wall - twin screens, a sensor bar above them and a marked mat on the floor - made in Finland by CSE Entertainment, and it runs on movement: you play it with your body, and the games answer. Touchdown, the american football game, is a two-player stand-off: the attacker's job is to reach the far end by dodging past the defender, and the defender's job is to stop them and steal the ball. Whoever has the most points when the clock runs out takes the win.

It's a game of core work and reactions, and because the two players are on the mat together, it's the head-to-head one for competitive bookings: school sports days, college events, corporate evenings with a scoreboard running. The maker pitches it at social play as much as fitness, which matches what it's like to run - you won't notice the workout for the arguing about the last play.

American football has a following here through the NFL, and you don't need the rulebook for this one. The game tells you who's attacking and who's defending, and the rest is down to footwork. The unit behind it is our iWall, one of only a handful in the country.
