iWall Street Racing

The iWall - CSE Entertainment's two-screen interactive gaming wall, made in Finland - plays its games through your body: the sensor above the screens reads your movement on the floor mat, and there are no controllers and no headsets. Street Racing is the running game, and your legs are the engine. The faster you run on the mat, the faster the car goes, and you change gears on time or you lose the speed you built.

You can race a friend or the computer, and fast legs aren't enough on their own; the timing on the gear changes and your reaction speed decide the close ones. The maker lists interval and cardio work among what it trains, which tells you what an afternoon of it does to a group of teenagers.

That makes it a good shout for school sports days, sports clubs and the energetic end of a corporate event, and the scoreboard gives the competitive bookings something to track. For the seated version of the sport there's our racing simulator, and the ski, football and parkour games run on the same wall for the rest of the group.

It all runs on our iWall, one of only a handful in the country. It's a freestanding unit with a marked mat in front, so the practical needs are floor space and a socket within reach, with the running space, power and staffing confirmed on the quote. We've been hiring out of our commercial unit in Havant since 2002, and everything that goes out on the vans belongs to us and travels with our own crew. The wall's electrics are PAT-tested annually, the public liability cover runs to £10 million, and risk assessments and method statements are available for your venue's checks.
