iWall Bubble Buddies

The iWall - CSE Entertainment's two-screen interactive gaming wall, made in Finland - plays its games through your body: the sensor above the screens reads your movement on the floor mat, and there are no controllers and no headsets. Bubble Buddies is the obstacle-course race: two players racing each other through courses that get harder as they go, eight levels of them. The twist is the sponge - pick one up and throw it at your opponent to make their run to the finish line harder, which is the part everyone remembers.

Eight levels means there's something for every skill level, per the maker, and a race is close enough that one well-timed sponge can decide it. The maker credits it with coordination, balance and timing, and the races are short, so the queue keeps moving and the loser is usually straight back on the mat for the rematch.

It suits school reward days, youth clubs, birthday parties and family days, and it's a natural for siblings and friendship pairs who want to go head to head. The Deepsea Dash undersea race and the ski simulator sit either side of it on the same unit's menu, and the football game covers the sporty crowd.

The unit is our iWall, and only a handful of the walls are in the country. It stands freestanding with a floor mat in front, so it needs clear floor and a socket within reach, and we'll confirm the running space, power and staffing on the quote. The wall's electrics are PAT-tested every year, and the £10 million public liability certificate and the risk assessments are there for your venue's paperwork if you need them.
