iWall Deepsea Dash

Every game on the iWall, our two-screen gaming wall by CSE Entertainment of Finland, is body-controlled: you stand on the marks on the mat, you move, and the screens respond. Deepsea Dash is the undersea race: two players racing down narrow paths and bridges, collecting seashells on the way, with the quickest and most agile across the finish line taking the gold. Finding the fastest route is part of it, so there's a bit of thinking to do while you're dodging about.

The cartoon undersea world plays to the younger end of a family day, and the racing is close enough to bring the older ones back for another go. The maker credits it with spatial awareness, timing, balance and strategy, which is a lot of words for a game that looks like a fish race, but it's the sort of thing parents are glad to see on a school booking.

It suits primary schools, family fun days, birthday parties and the family corner of a corporate event, and it sits on the same unit as the ski simulator, football and the rest of the list when the group wants to rotate. Rounds are short, so the queue keeps moving and everyone gets a fair share of the mat.

The wall it runs on is our iWall, one of only a handful in the country. It's freestanding with a floor mat in front, so it needs a clear run of floor and a socket within reach, and we confirm the running space, power and staffing on the quote once we know the room. The first picture is the maker's screenshot of the game, the second is the wall running at an exhibition stand, and our own event photos will follow once the wall's been out a few times.

The wall's electrics are PAT-tested every year, and the £10 million public liability certificate and the risk assessments are there for your venue's paperwork if you need them.
