Pirate Slide Hire - 25ft Tropical Pirate Mega Slide

The Pirate Slide - sometimes listed as a pirate inflatable slide, a pirate mega slide or a tropical pirate slide - is our single-lane mega slide done up as a pirate island. Green palm trees stand at the corners, there's pirate artwork on the top platform, cartoon characters in island gear run down the front towers, and the slide bed is blue with a wave pattern at the foot.

You climb to the top platform and come down the wide blue lane onto the crash mats we put down at the bottom. It runs for children and adults, so at a family do it tends to be the thing the kids and the grown-ups both end up queuing for.

It's the longest of our mega slides at 25ft, and at 20ft high it stands as tall as the Jungle Event Slide, so it wants either an outdoor pitch or a large indoor venue with the ceiling height to take it. We set it up on a clear, level grass area we can stake into, with room around it, clear air above so no overhanging branches or cables, and driveable access for delivery and collection. If the only space you've got is a hard surface, tell us when you enquire and we'll let you know whether it can be anchored safely.

It tends to go out to birthday parties, school fun days and fetes, village fairs, weddings, corporate and family fun days, community festivals and charity events. It works on its own or as part of a bigger pirate or seaside setup.

What you get

The slide is ours outright, PIPA-tagged and inspected every year by our in-house RPII inspector, which is the only inflatable inspection scheme the HSE recognises. Because it stands 20ft high, wind matters: for outdoor hires we bring an anemometer and follow the standard procedure, with wind-speed readings every thirty minutes and a mandatory shutdown and evacuation at 24mph (Force 5). Every member of our team has passed the RPII operator and supervisor exams, is first-aid trained, and holds an enhanced DBS check, which matters if you're booking around children, a school or a faith community. A slide this tall wants a responsible adult on it throughout, and we can put one of our own trained staff on it to run it if you'd rather not handle that yourselves.

The £10 million public liability certificate and the equipment risk assessment are there on request, and we also hold additional licensed-premises cover for jobs at a pub, club or bar. We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, covering Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and into London, including Portsmouth and Southampton.
