iWall Disc Golf

The iWall - CSE Entertainment's two-screen interactive gaming wall, made in Finland - plays its games through your body: the sensor above the screens reads your movement on the floor mat, and there are no controllers and no headsets. Disc Golf - a frisbee golf game, sometimes written as a disc golf wall - takes the outdoor game of throwing a disc at a chain basket and runs it on the screens. You throw with a swing of the hand: the direction and speed of your hand set the throw, and leaning and jumping nudge the disc while it's in the air.

The goal is the outdoor game's goal, which is round the course in as few throws as possible. There are six difficulty levels, from the maker's First Fairways up to the Lumper Links, and the game is deliberately built so a textbook throwing technique doesn't matter - the disc goes where your hand sends it. That's why a first-timer can land a decent round while a practiced player is still finding the lines.

Because a swing of the hand is all the movement it needs, it suits mixed-age groups, family days and school bookings where the group spans the whole age range, and the indoor version means nobody's fishing a disc out of a hedge. It runs on our iWall, one of only a handful in the country. The unit is freestanding with a floor mat in front, so it needs a clear run of floor and a socket within reach, and we confirm the running space, power and staffing on the quote once we know your room.
