Tug of War Hire
Tug of war hire is a straightforward team activity: two sides, one rope, and the team that pulls hardest wins. There isn't much to explain; people see the rope and they know what to do, which is part of the reason it works at almost any event. It's competitive without needing any skill or equipment beyond a decent grip and some willing volunteers.
It tends to work at school fun days, village fêtes, corporate team-building events and birthday parties, anywhere you've got a crowd that wants something physical but simple. Children and adults can compete on the same rope if you split the sides sensibly, and it doesn't require much space or set-up time compared with the larger kit.
Where it suits
- School fun days, sports days and youth groups
- Corporate team building and office away days
- Village fêtes, summer fairs and council events
- Birthday parties and family celebrations
- Charity fundraisers and community days
How we hire it out
We bring the rope, mark out the area and run the pulls throughout the hire. We own all of our kit, so the person turning up on the day is one of our staff, not a sub-contractor. Everyone on the road is first-aid trained and enhanced-DBS registered, which matters if you're booking around children, schools or vulnerable adults. We've run Monster Event Hire from our unit in Havant since 2002, covering Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and into London. The policy carries £10 million public liability, and the certificate is on request.
Combine it with other stalls and mini games if you're putting together a bigger spread of activities.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you on behalf of the Maynard family – the birthday boy and his pals had a terrific time on Saturday, despite the changeable weather. Great fun was had by all on your rodeo bull, sumos and human bowling. I’d like to send my own thanks to the 2 lovely guys who came with the inflatables. They were great with the kids, promoting fun whilst still retaining that air of ‘safety conscious’.
They were a pleasure to work with! I look forward to calling on your services again sometime in the future.
Kind regards
